Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join a sorority at UofT?

The University of Toronto Panhellenic Association strictly adheres to the National Panhellenic Conference recruitment process. Under this structured framework, all seven sororities collaborate seamlessly, working in unison to ensure the collective growth of all member groups.

How much does it cost to join a sorority?

Each of the seven sororities at the University of Toronto (UofT) maintains a distinct cost structure for their members. Within this framework, Tri Delta stands out by offering a comprehensive dues package that encompasses all expenditures associated with the sorority for a given year. This all-inclusive fee defrays the costs of a wide array of events and services, including but not limited to formals, semi-formals, educational workshops, meetings, sisterhood activities, and a myriad of other enriching experiences.

It is crucial to emphasize that while Tri Delta adheres to this unified fee structure, each chapter operates its financial systems independently. This divergence results in varying dues and financial practices across the different sororities, reflecting the unique approaches and offerings within each chapter.

What are the GPA requirements to join a sorority?

Academic pursuits stand as our foremost priority, and our engagement in sorority life is intended to augment and enrich our university experiences rather than impede them. It is essential to note that the Panhellenic Council does not mandate a specific GPA threshold for participation in the Recruitment process. However, each sorority maintains its own unique GPA criteria that must be met in order to qualify for membership.

Upon commencement of the Recruitment process, you will receive a PNM manual which comprehensively outlines the specific GPA prerequisites established by each individual sorority.

Every sorority offers dedicated study programs designed to provide academic support and enhance your educational journey. Within each house, there is a designated member who specializes in overseeing and promoting the scholastic aspirations of fellow members. For Tri Delta, this role is embodied by the Director of Academic Excellence. This individual plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and facilitating academic initiatives, ensuring the scholarly success of our members in all aspects of their university pursuits.

Are there scholarships available?

Yes! Tri Delta and our mother sorority, Tri Psi, offer numerous scholarships available to undergraduate and graduate students. Learn more about our scholarship program here: tridelta.org/foundations/scholarships
